Mysterious Mars! ESA Releases Riveting Images Of ‘Grand Canyon’ That Are 10 Times Bigger Than Earth’s
Individuals have been wondering for generations whether Mars will be a habitable planet for living beings in the years ahead, especially since space agencies discovered water on the red planet.
European Space Agency recently published spectacular new images of Mars’ own exclusive “Grand Canyon.” The stunning images of Martian’ Grand Canyon show vibrant colors and the red planet’s gorgeous plains
Mar’s Grand Canyon is 3000 kilometres long and ten times the size of Earth’s Grand Canyon. Hebes Chasma is a trough deep within Valles Marineris that contains water bearing minerals. It was given this name because of its similarity to the Grand Canyon in the United States.
In the heart of Hebes Chasma is a plain mountain. It goes up to quite the same height as the plain covering the trough and attains 8000 m just above graben floor. Mountain is made up of multiple rock layers , which could be remains of an older plateau or lake sediments.
There is indication that water has been discovered on the Grand Canyon. Data from Mars Express’s OMEGA spectrometer indicated water-bearing minerals such as gypsum in some regions of Hebes Chasma.
The Grand Canyon of Mars contains water minerals and a vibrant red valley. The trough’s steep flanks revealed branched incisions and tiny rocks
According to ESA, “the source of Hebes Chasma is assumed to be linked to the nearby Tharsis Region, which was elevated during intense volcanism.”
